SHEILA LYON AT THE MONACO HOTEL

 It
is a rare opportunity for me to watch a fellow
entertainer working for the general public. I was
fortunate recently in seeing Sheila Lyon in action at
the up market Monaco Hotel in downtown Seattle. Twice a
week, Sheila entertains in a beautiful room next to the
lobby in this hotel. Guests and their friends can meet
here and enjoy complimentary drinks while being
entertained by Sheila. Sheila offers group palm
readings, animal card readings, and a variety of games
and puzzles for people who are not interested in
fortune-telling.
I knew that Sheila read palms in groups, and was
fascinated to see how popular – and entertaining – this
was. Sheila is charming and enthusiastic, and captivated
her audience in seconds. Her readings were upbeat and
positive. She kept her audience involved throughout and
answered all their questions. Sheila’s replies were
amusing and astute. I particularly loved the fact that
Sheila could entertain a room full of people with her
walkaround readings, and provide helpful advice along
the way.
After reading palms, Sheila switched to animal card
readings. She asked people to choose a card from a deck
of animal cards. Sheila interpreted this card, and the
person was able to keep it. Unfortunately, I chose the
Badger, which means “hard work.”
I also watched someone trying to create a pyramid out
of two pieces of plastic, and several people playing
with fortune-telling fish. Of course, these were
provided by Sheila, too, and is part of her recipe that
ensures that everyone has a good time.
I spoke with several of the guests. One stayed at the
hotel regularly and always made sure that he was back at
the hotel in time to attend Sheila’s events. He was
amazed at the accuracy of her animal card readings. An
elderly lady was impressed with her palm reading and
said she’s be at Sheila’s next evening at the hotel to
learn more. A middle-aged man told me that he didn’t
believe in fortune-telling, but was impressed with
Sheila. He said he’d bring his wife with him on his next
visit. Everyone I spoke to was enchanted by Sheila.
